Is hemp flower the same as marijuana?
Marijuana and hemp are both in the cannabis family, but they're different variants of the cannabis plant. While "marijuana" is a term for cannabis strains that usually have higher-than-average traces of delta-9 THC, hemp is a specific cannabis subset that naturally has high concentrations of CBD and comparatively little delta-9 THC. Legally, hemp flower in the USA must have ≤ 0.3% delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis to be compliant with the 2018 US Farm Bill.
Does HHC flower get you high?
Yes, HHC gets you high. HHC flower contains high concentrations of the cannabinoid hexahydrocannabinol, which has a chemical composition similar to THC. Although HHC isn't the same as delta-9 THC, it interacts with the brain's CB1 receptors and produces a "high" sensation. Some tokers describe HHC's "high-inducing" effect as less intense versus THC, but it will likely cause you to feel effects like euphoria, a head rush, and relaxation.
What is high-THCA hemp flower?
THCA is the precursor to delta-9 THC (the form of THC we all know and love), but it has a distinctive molecular structure and won't produce a "high" effect on its own. It's only when THCA becomes active THC that it has the psychoactive effects commonly associated with cannabis. THCA is converted into active delta-9 THC through heat, like when you smoke or vape it. THCA hemp flower has been harvested with a high concentration of THCA but a low concentration of delta-9 THC, which means it can be sold as a legal hemp product. Does high-THCA hemp flower get you high?
When you heat your THCA hemp flower, you'll change THCA’s chemical makeup into THC through a process called "decarboxylation." When this happens, THCA becomes delta-9 THC, meaning you'll feel a classic "high" effect when smoking a THCA hemp strain.
